Through our 'Caring Hands in Crisis' initiative, we offer a range of services, including trauma-informed care, physical & accessibility support, and practical assistance. Our team is available around the clock to help our community navigate these challenging times with strength and dignity.
Trauma-Informed Care
Companionship and social interaction: Provide companionship, conversation, and engaging activities to alleviate loneliness and isolation.
Emotional support and listening: Offer a compassionate and non-judgmental ear to help clients process their emotions and cope with trauma.
Referrals to mental health professionals: Connect clients with therapists, counselors, or psychiatrists specializing in trauma and grief.
Memory support: Assist clients with memory exercises and daily routines to help maintain cognitive function.
Physical and Accessibility Support
Transfers: Assist with transfers to and from bed, chairs, and other surfaces.
Ambulation: Provide assistance with walking, using assistive devices (walkers, canes), and navigating uneven surfaces.
Bathing and showering: Assist with bathing, showering, and personal hygiene.
Dressing and grooming: Assist with dressing, grooming, and toileting.
Coordinate with home modification specialists: Assist with coordinating home modifications such as ramp installation, grab bar installation, and other accessibility improvements.
Practical Assistance
Medication reminders: Assist with medication schedules and administration (with appropriate training and supervision).
Medication refills: Assist with refilling prescriptions and coordinating with pharmacies.
Light housekeeping tasks: Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, dishes, dusting, and vacuuming.
Meal preparation: Assist with meal planning, grocery shopping, and preparing nutritious meals.
Errands: Picking up prescriptions, groceries, and other essential items.
Respite Care
Provide temporary relief to family caregivers, allowing them to take breaks and recharge.
Provide information and resources on caregiving techniques, stress management, and self-care.
Connect caregivers with other caregivers facing similar challenges.
Emergency Preparedness
Develop personalized emergency plans: Assist clients with developing and practicing emergency evacuation plans.
Assemble emergency kits: Help clients assemble emergency kits with essential supplies such as medications, water, and non-perishable food.
Provide information on disaster preparedness: Share information on disaster preparedness resources and safety tips.
Community Integration
Accompany clients to appointments and social events: Assist clients with attending medical appointments, social events, and community activities.
